Good book overall
By Faith S.
This book is very comprehensive as far as giving specific instructions and plans for setting up a class. From from method to logistics to class plans. She also provides thought provoking questions for those not sure if this is for them (working with reactive dogs for a living).
One of the necessary considerations, is recruiting quality people to help in the classroom with little or no pay (which is what most trainers can afford). The book recommends having 1:1 assistants to dog handler with 2 or 3:1 being "doable". If you are a big time trainer that may be possible-for most trainers it will not be possible to get the help required.
If you are motivated this is the book for you. Reactive dogs are all the rage (pun intended) and there is a definite need for these type of classes. There is money to be made-which could be used to hire assistants.
That being said, even if you don't want to teach reactive dog classes exclusively. Most classes end up with a reactive dog or two anyway and this book has a lot of good ideas for teaching any class.

Awesome insight into what it's like to have a reactive ...
By Paws4u
This book gives you clear instructions step by step and guides you through each step that takes you closer to the goal of being able to handle your reactive dog. Awesome insight into what it's like to have a reactive dog. This books gives you the tools to be able to help your dog, help yourself, and to do both without punishment. A totally positive approach to training and discipline. A shorter and very readable version of this method is: Click to Calm, also by Emma Parsons.

Wow... way more than I expected!
By K. Hovey
Fabulous! What a gift Emma has given us by writing and sharing this. As an "intermediate" trainer, I have seen a great need for these classes in my area, but until now was a little unsure of offering them without a more experienced trainer on hand. Now I feel confident that, with proper aides to help, I can offer small classes for this issue and begin to bring the dogs - and people - in our community to a new comfort level with reactivity issues. Thank you for a wonderful book!
