He teaches Advanced Placement English Language & Composition, and World Literature to seniors. Must-have for the college bound

As a high school senior, this book has been incredibly helpful. It is written humorously and clearly, calming me down slightly from this whole frenetic application process, which I am thankful for. Included in the book are several essays from his previous students (he is a high school English teacher) that provided me with a good ideas to start off of. Little exercises are provided throughout the book to inspire the readers and capture the big picture that admissions officers want to see. With this book, i wrote a winning essay that i know will bowl over the schools. All in all, it is a must-have for those applying to colleges anytime in the future. It's funny, it's short and sweet, and it's helpful. What more could you want?

Just What a Senior Needs

This book makes writing your college admissions essay a breeze. Before I read this book, I had literally no idea what to do for my essays. This book provides the format and structure necessary to "ace" the admissions essay, as well as boost your creative thinking. Not to mention, the numerous example essays allow the reader to see first hand how it's done, and maybe even inspire an idea of their own. After reading this book, I'm confident in my ability to construct a creative essay of my own. Simply put, if you are having any trouble writing your essays, this is the book for you.

This guide is quick and easy to follow

A completed, ready-for-submission college essay requires much preparation, and this book provides a step-by-step process that simplifies and relieves the stress of preparation. Sometimes the hardest part is simply the brainstorming of ideas, and this book provides strategies and exercises to help you expand ideas for an essay. This book helped me the most by guiding me through the planning stage, with advice on how to make my essay topic as unique as possible while still letting my personality show through the writing. The examples of finished essays by successful college applicants are proof that this brainstorming process really works. I highly recommend that rising seniors read this book during the summer before you begin applying for college.
